What is your project?
I plan on doing my project on gang violence and how it affects the communities and the people on them. To figure this out I’m going to get as much information as I can on the internet, but my main idea is to go to actually communities, where gang violence is a major problem. I would like to interview members of gangs and even the people of the community that are affected by it. I also plan on putting together a group of under classmen that attend my school, and get their views on gang violence; ask them “What they think about gangs?” or if they’re in a gang “Why are they in a gang and why do you think people join them?” Hopefully this project will answer all the questions that I need to be answered.
Why are you doing this project?
I’m doing this project because I’ve always been interested in gang violence. I’ve always wanted to know why people do it, what is their purpose? I want parents to know how to prevent their child from joining into a gang or even signs that their child is in a gang. I want to know a teens view on gangs, do they do it because everyone else is doing it? Or are they just scared and this is the only way they feel safe?
Definite Purpose and Goal
Focus
My focus on this project is mostly teens. They are the ones we mostly would associate gang violence with, because their affected by it the most. Also the people of the communities because they are affected by it also because they lose their friends and even family to the non sense. Innocent people are killed everyday by gang violence and it neither their fault. Gang violence needs to be put to a stop. And hopefully this project will help.
Learn, Show and Accomplish, My Point
I hope to learn more about gang violence and how it affects communities and the people in them. I also hope to show parents, friends, and families how they can prevent gang violence from happening. I plan on accomplishing a power point along with video and interview. My point is to try and prevent gang violence from messing up communities. I want people to know that gang violence is a major problem today and it needs to be put to a stop! You shouldn’t ignore it because you’re scared you should be trying to help and do something about it.
